Noise in every colour

White, pink, brown and deep brown noise, built to their exact definitions, plus delta waves.

Every fan you sleep to

Box, ceiling, desk, tower and industrial fans, air conditioning, an air purifier and a hair dryer.

Made for newborns

Shushing, a heartbeat, womb sounds, a music box and soft lullabies for the first months.

Your own mix

Lay rain under a fan and set each sound's volume by turning its ring. Save it for tomorrow night.

Fades out gently

A sleep timer that fades slowly, stops at a wake time, or plays until morning.

A dark room

Night Mode turns the screen fully black, and the night light is a slow, dim starfield for feeds.

Safe listening, on by default

Paediatricians recommend keeping sound machines at or below 50 decibels and at least two metres (7 feet) from where a baby sleeps. Nightfan's nursery volume limiter is on from the first launch.

Questions parents and sleepers ask

Is white noise safe for babies?

Yes, at a sensible volume and distance. Paediatric guidance is to keep sound machines at or below 50 decibels, about a quiet conversation, and at least two metres (7 feet) from where a baby sleeps. Nightfan’s nursery volume limiter is on from the first launch, and a safe listening guide is built in.

What is the difference between white, pink and brown noise?

White noise has equal energy at every frequency and sounds bright, like a hiss. Pink noise rolls off the highs and sounds like steady rain. Brown noise rolls off further still, a deep rumble like a waterfall or a plane cabin; many adults find it the easiest to sleep to. Nightfan has all three, plus deep brown noise, generated to their exact definitions.

Which sound helps a newborn sleep?

Many newborns settle to sounds like the ones they heard in the womb: shushing, a heartbeat, womb sounds, or the steady hum of a fan. Nightfan has all of them, and you can layer two, such as a heartbeat under a fan.

Can Nightfan play all night?

Yes. Set a sleep timer that fades out gently, stop at a wake time, or play until morning. Sound keeps playing with the screen locked and resumes after a phone call.

Does Nightfan work offline?

Yes. There is no account and no sign-in, and every sound plays without a connection.

Is Nightfan free?

Seven sounds are free for ever, including two fans, brown noise, rain and shushing. Premium unlocks all sixty sounds, the mixer and every timer length, and you can try it free for 7 days.
