Privacy Policy
RadarPal — last updated 19 October 2026
TEKBH, Switzerland ("we") makes RadarPal, an app that speaks alerts for speed cameras, road hazards and truck or RV restrictions while you drive. This policy says what the app collects, why, and how to make us stop.
The short version
- There is no account and no sign-in. We do not ask for your name, email, address or phone number.
- Your location is used on your phone to find the road you are on and what is ahead. We never send your coordinates to our analytics or crash reports.
- Drive history is off unless you turn it on, and then it stays on your phone.
- We collect anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to improve the app.
- We never sell data, and there is no advertising in the app.
Location
RadarPal needs your location, including in the background, because its job is to warn you while the phone is locked or another app is open. Each GPS fix is matched to the road on your device by the HERE SDK. To do that, the app downloads map data for the area around you from HERE Technologies, so HERE's servers see requests for the map area you are driving in, the same as any map app. HERE's privacy notice is at https://legal.here.com/en-gb/privacy. Location is used only while alerts are switched on; switching them off, or removing the location permission in your system settings, stops it.
What stays on your device and never leaves it
- Drive history (only if you turn it on): the route, your speed, the speed limit and the alerts of each drive. It is kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically. You can delete one drive or all of them in the app at any time. If you export a drive, you choose where the file goes.
- The app log: recent app events used to diagnose problems. It leaves the phone only if you tap Send logs to support and choose where to send it. It does not contain your trip history.
- Your settings: which alerts are on, your vehicle size, voice and units.
Deleting the app deletes all of this.
What we collect
Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics). Anonymous events such as: alerts were switched on or off, an alert of a given type was spoken, the paywall was seen, a purchase completed, onboarding finished. Each carries a random installation identifier, the app version, the device model, the OS version and the coarse country from the connection. They never carry your coordinates. Google processes this for us; see https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics). When the app crashes we receive the stack trace, recent app events, the app version, the device model and the OS version, without coordinates.
Configuration (Firebase Remote Config). The app asks our server for current settings, such as which alerts are free in which country. This is a request out, not data in.
Purchases (RevenueCat and the app stores). If you subscribe, Apple or Google process the payment; we never see your card. RevenueCat holds an anonymous subscriber identifier so the app knows what you are entitled to and can restore it on a new device. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we do not collect
No contacts, photos, microphone or files. No advertising identifier and no advertising SDK, and no tracking across other companies' apps or websites. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA/CPRA.
Children
RadarPal is for drivers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Legal basis, if you are in Switzerland, the EEA or the UK
We process location to provide the service you asked for (Article 6(1)(b)), and rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) to keep the app working and to understand in aggregate how it is used. We are based in Switzerland, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) applies alongside the GDPR.
Your rights
You can turn alerts or drive history off, delete drives, remove the location permission, and delete the app, which removes everything stored on the device. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and to complain to a regulator. Because the data we hold is anonymous we usually cannot connect a request to a particular installation, but write to us and we will do what we can.
How long we keep things
Drive history on your device: 90 days. Analytics events: 14 months. Crash reports: 90 days.
Where data goes
Our processors (Google, RevenueCat, HERE) operate in the United States, the European Union and elsewhere. Transfers out of Switzerland, the EEA and the UK rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, as recognised by the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, if the change matters, say so in the app.
